What's New In Raiser's Edge The Week Of August 3rd

This week, Raiser's Edge NXT announces enhancements to the duplicate search and online registration forms. We also have an exciting update about Online Express!Enhanced duplicate matching

Under Tools, Data Health, you can review potential duplicates. In addition, when you add a constituent record, you can see any matches to potential duplicates to help you avoid adding a repeat record. To more accurately identify potential duplicates, the duplicate search now includes matches on former names for constituents (known as maiden names in the database view). Previously, the duplicate search only matched identical last names. This can be helpful especially for older records such as alumni whose names might have changed.

PayPal for Online Express (for some)

To give your constituents additional payment options when they use Online Express forms, PayPal is now a digital wallet option for some customers. A digital wallet is a service that saves a person's payment information so they can effortlessly complete a payment from trusted devices. When one-time payments process through Blackbaud Merchant Services, wallet options display in Blackbaud Checkout.

If your organization is included in this first wave, your admins were notified by email and provided with instructions about how to set it up. Another way to verify if you’re in this wave is to open the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal. From Account Management, General Settings, check for the PayPal Commerce Platform tile.

Soon, PayPal will also be available for forms in Raiser’s Edge NXT. To use it, you’ll need Blackbaud Merchant Services and a PayPal Business account for your organization. Stay tuned for more information!

Adjust event time zones (for those with online registration forms)

Now when registrants download events to their personal calendars, the event times adjust to registrant time zones. Previously, when the time zone for a registrant and an event were different, the time that downloaded was incorrect.

To ensure event times adjust correctly, you can now set time zones from online registration forms. From an event record, under Online registration forms, edit an existing form or create a new one. Then under Confirmations, select Edit bb-edit.png next to the time zone, adjust it to match the event, and select Save.
