What's New in Financial Edge NXT (EAP 3 release)

The April 30 release of Financial Edge NXT includes the following features and enhancements:



Reporting. Reporting is where you create and run reports in Financial Edge NXT. Reporting leverages existing reports and settings defined using the database view. For example, the report parameters and tags you created in the database view, also appear in Financial Edge NXT.



Add, edit, and delete journal entry batches. From the Journal entry tab of General ledger, you can create batches of transactions for posting to your General ledger accounts. When you create a batch, you compile a group of debit and credit transactions that you can post to your ledger accounts. The Journal entry batches list displays all the batches you have in the system. From this list, you can add, edit, and delete batches.



Copy journal entry batches. To save time when creating similar batches of transactions, you can copy an existing batch into a new batch. You can then save and post the new batch to General Ledger. You can copy from both open and posted batches. This is useful when you want to post a duplicate batch of transactions, or when you need to edit transactions in a posted batch. After creating the new batch, you can add, change, or delete transactions before posting.



Create reversing journal entry batches. Reversing a posted batch allows you to cancel the effects of transactions previously posted to General Ledger. When you reverse a posted batch, the program creates a mirror image of the original batch with the debits and credits reversed. You cannot reverse a batch posted to a year that is closed.



Notes and actions enhancements. To further define your records, we recommend you add notes and/or actions to your records as you work. With this level of detailed information, you can create a complete picture of the record. With this release, we changed how notes and actions are displayed on the record, so that you can quickly determine the status of your notes and actions, as well as access menu options like edit, delete, and mark as complete. We also added the ability to search for who you want to perform the action.
