Viewing Accounts In A Default Fiscal Year

When opening (view full record) an account, I would like to presume the fiscal year that displays is the current fiscal year, but sometimes that is not the case.  There are times when I view an account and find that the year is a prior year.  Is this a setting that can be changed to always display the current year or always display a specific fiscal year when viewing the account record?  I'm guessing maybe the fiscal year that is displayed is what was selected the last time the record was open.  This is in FE NXT -- I'm not sure how it behaves in database view.

    Good question - I’m assuming you’re talking about the activity tile on an account record in the web view of FE NXT. If that’s the case, I believe you are correct that the fiscal year will be based upon the last selection. Meaning if I choose 2018, exit the account record, then go back into it, it should still be displaying 2018.

    If you work in the database view, it possible to set the activity tab of an account record to default to last fiscal year, this fiscal year or next fiscal year. Now the kicker is will that setting flow through to the web view? The answer is possibly. Some db view settings flow through to the web view, while other don’t. So this would be something I would recommend testing to see if the setting would impact the web view.

    To access this setting:
    • Go to database view
    • Make sure you are in the General Ledger
    • Tools (found up at the top)
    • Options – this will cause a window to pop up
    • On the options window choose the tab that says “records”
    • On the left side of the window choose “account activity”
    From here you will see various settings and defaults for the account record.

    Thanks for responding.  I tested it and it works great, but only in DB view, not NXT...at least not yet.  I know sometimes some things don't sync immediately between the two, so I'll let it simmer overnight and see what it looks like tomorrow.
