Error: You don't have access to any SKY API enabled Blackbaud Products

I have a user attempting to make some API calls against our Educational Management database.  I've followed the Getting Started instructions, and the SKY API has been connected successfully.  However, he is receiving an error "You don't have access to any SKY API enabled Blackbaud Products" in Getting Started Step #6.4.  The Knowledgebase suggests that it is because the user is not an invited/accepted Blackbaud ID user.   However, when I check his username, I can see that he has successfully accepted the invite and is "active".

I opened a support ticket this morning, but they indicated that I should post my problem to this Community instead.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Hi Geoffrey, has the user also been added to your Educational Management system? He has to be able to login to it and access the data as well. That's the SKY API enabled Blackbaud Product. The Blackbaud ID is access to blackbaud.com but not necessarily the data in your Educational Management database.
  • Thanks, Nancy.  The user does have a user account in Educational Management.  He has the faculty role (non-teaching staff) role.  However, in double checking that, I do see that his Blackbaud ID has not been connected to his Core user account.  I'm thinking that may the issue.   I'll connect that and have him access Educational Management with his SSO credentials and see if that fixes the problem.
