How to code Current vs Former Parents in RE

Hello BB Community,


I work in higher ed and we currently use RE NXT. I was wondering how other organizations particularly schools code/track current vs former parents in RE. Your ideas would be much appreciated.

    I use constituency codes to track our Board Members. When they are current the constituency code is Board Member, when they cycle off the Board I change the constituency code to Former Board Member. Using Date From and Date To helps in creating reports. I also use Notes tab a lot to document changes in any constituency record.  This practice may help in tracking your parents.

    Hi Ludis -


    We have three constituency codes for parents:

    Current Parents

    Former Parents (student left and did not graduate)

    Parent of Alums


    We do a global change after graduation for all parents of graduates. When a student leaves, we just change from Current to Former.
