What's your experience with Adobe Sign?

We currently have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro which allows us to do a lot of cool stuff with documents. With the COVID-19 adjustments to the way we do business, we are now accepting signatures through email for grant agreements and want to use another feature that Adobe has called Adobe Sign which allows you to do among many things, collect signatures and track the status of the process. Before making the leap to Adobe Sign I wanted to ask if anyone else is using it and what their experience has been. Mostly I'm wondering if the documents I send to people who don't have a robust Adobe package will be able to open and sign so long as we have it and send it to them that way.

  • Sheree, thanks for asking these questions. I would also be interested in the replies you receive. Also, how compatible is Adobe Sign with BBGM.
  • We have been using Adobe Sign to execute grant agreements for several years and it has been a great time saver.  I send the grantee an email (from BBGM) alerting them that the agreement is coming, what email address it will be coming from, and let them know the ins and outs of delegating the signature to someone else in their organization.  The signer doesn't need to have an account or Acrobat Pro.  Once the agreement is signed it comes back to me automatically by email and I attach it to the request record.  There is an occasional glitch when the signature request email goes to the grantee's junk folder, or they forward the email to someone instead of using the delegation button, but you know how that is.  Sometimes people don't follow instructions.  All of this happens outside BBGM, by the way.  There's no API script or anything.

  • Thank you, Nish. This is very helpful. I also posted this on Peak Connect and have received accolades for the program. Other users said:
    • With Adobe e-sign, we were able to request two signatures per letter. We could track the progress (did they see the email? Have they signed and sent the letter to the next signee? Etc.), send reminders directly from Adobe e-sign and save the signed document easily.
    •  Have used Adobe Sign successfully. Grantees do not have to have Adobe Pro or Adobe Sign to sign documents we send. We send tutorials with the signature requests to help them navigate the signature documents which have been helpful to grantees.
    •  Easy to use.
