Posting Soft Credits

I received a check from an organization that were taking gifts for our athletic department.  I posted the check to the company's record and did a soft credit for each constituent.  What it shows in RENXT is the entire check amount on each constituent record instead of just the amount of their soft credit.  Those of us who post gifts would know what this was, but for those who don't post, they only see the gift and assume it's a mistake.  I was out of the office and the donor asked for a copy of this gifts for the calendar year and because they ran it from NXT it included the entire gift instead of the soft credit.  Has anyone else ran into this and if so, how did you handle it?

    Unfortunately we handle it by not using NXT for that sort of thing.  We struggle with donors who ask for giving histories, but whenever we do provide data like that we typically use database view.  We still find that NXT is great in a pinch but it still has enough quirks and limitations...


    I was able to make a Gift list in RE NXT and when I show the soft credit column it does indeed show the FULL gift amount, not the proper soft credit amount.  I would argue that his is a bug and should probably be reported to Blackbaud.
