User Options in RE NXT

Good morning, everyone!

We migrated to RE NXT in December and I'm still feeling my way around.  Can you set up user options in the web view? My boss wants the Work Center to be his "home" screen.  Can this be done?

Many thanks,

  • I don't believe that is possible right now.  The landing page for everyone is the same.  And I have not come across any user options to set specifically in webview the way you can in database view.

I suspect more of that will come in the distance future, but nothing right now.

You could bookmark his work center in his browser so whenever he goes to NXT he starts there and if he wanted to go back it would still be the click of a button, just not the Home screen link within NXT. Or you could even set his browser settings so his work center is his home screen whenever he opens up chrome for example.
  • Unless something has changed in the last few months (my new org doesn't have NXT!) the work center is the default log-in view for folks who have been marked as "Is a solicitor" on their constituent record AND have had their constituent record linked to their user account in the RE7 settings.

When you link the constituent name to the user in RE7 security, it will ask you if you want to make this constituent a solicitor if you haven't done so already. I've highlighted the Constituent Name box in the screencap of the security settings for myself, so you can see where to do it.

  • Setting the work center in his bookmark bar would work, or setting it as his home page. I may ask some of my co-workers if that's something they would like, as well.

I'm with Keri Barnhart‍.  I thought the work center was the default "home" screens for solicitors.  Granted, if they are not a solicitor, there's not much for them to see in the work center.  Work doesn't really help much if you can't have constituents assigned to you.

However, if they are an administrator with full access, they can view everyone's actions and a cumulative work center.  Which is helpful to see who has outstanding actions and other things that are past due.
