Is there a way for students to see what grade has been dropped by the system when a teacher sets up a category to drop the lowest grade?

Right now, the teacher can run a report that shows which grade was dropped by the system, but the student does not have access to this information.  Is there a reason it has been setup like this?  Would it be possible to show the student what has been dropped on her end without her teacher having to run a report? Thanks!
