Volunteer tab information visibility in NXT

For years, we've used the database version and entered volunteer information on the Volunteer tab-General-Volunteer Types.  We can list the name of the program and the volunteer's start and end date.  These folks will then show up on a data pull of donors for that particular program.  


UNFORTUNATELY, this information is NOT VISIBLE in the version of Raiser's Edge that I use every day, all day long:  NXT.  I have been told that it would be visible if it had been entered per the attached article.  While changing our data entry procedures moving forward would help, it doesn't allow me to readily see the wealth of information already entered.  I'm looking for an easy fix, because asking someone to re-enter that much data is ridiculous.  Suggested options:

1. Make visible in NXT the info listed in the general/volunteer types area from the Volunteer tab in the database view

2. Blackbaud's help migrating years of data into the area that can be seen in the NXT view.


Other ideas??

    I agree with you Cheri Bush‍ and you should look in the idea bank to either vote up the several ideas about improving Volunteer functionality in NXT or create your own.


    When we got the volunteer module with our upgrade to NXT I was excited to explore it and it seemed promising in database view, but then I was disappointed when I looked in NXT. Hopefully soon!

    I fully agree with your post. It is so disappointing to not be able to use volunteer information from database view in NXT. The fields are not event available in list so you can't create a list based on certain jobs, or volunteer types. As the majority of our staff only works in NXT, it becomes more and more urgent that data fields are available in database and NXT. Oherwise it holds back our productivity.

    This is SO frustrating! I was working with a client on a big database assessment back in January 2019. I had a conversation with Blackbaud about their volunteer offering in NXT, and at that time, they were planning to rebuild from the ground up for NXT. All of the features that are part of more modern volunteer software - like the ability to schedule yourself online, sign in and sign out, get a reminder email, etc. - were going to be part of their build. They were hoping / planning for it to be ready for release in about two years, which would have been now. I have not heard a single thing about their plans lately.


    There is a product briefing coming up for RE on April 20. I always recommend attending those, and maybe you can ask about it, if it doesn't come up in the briefing.
