Importacular with OneCause

Has anyone used Onecause or Bidpal and gotten their information into Raisers Edge? They suggested using Importacular but we are not having successful test imports with it.  Do you know when using importacular - does it update the account information if you have an address in it's space even if it matches? or if address were blank - does it just leave it alone? We want to match with our constituents and make sure we enter the gifts on the HOH and not the spouse, but a spouse might be the one participating in the event. We just didn't want it to update information  we don't need it to, when we click ignore - it ignores the entry completely and the gift doesn't come in. Looking for insight on this and wondering if Importacular support is what is needed/necessary to make sure we use it properly?

  • Hi Victoria,

Sorry that you're having difficulty with Importacular.  Selecting "Ignore" is intended to send the entire record to the Control Report and not to process it.  If you don't want to update certain fields, you will need to address that via the settings that you choose in your template (either field by field using the Field Settings or by an entire mapping using the Area Settings).

Also, Importacular does default to importing Gifts to Batch, so once you've imported, you will likely need to commit the Batch to see the gifts in Raiser's Edge.

I sent you a few links regarding how to access the Field and Area settings via email a little while ago.  We also have several tutorial videos available that may help you as you get started (if you haven't already watched them).

Hopefully that will help you move forward with your testing. If you'd like more information regarding our support and training options or if I can point you to any of our other free resources, please let me know and I'm happy to do so.

    Best wishes,

    Christine
