No other parent information received on application or in system

We use the Enrollment Management for our admission process which then leads to pulling in the accepted families once we receive their contracts as incoming parents.  I am not certain what year we are in on this process as we have been doing this through BB in the Education Management solutions for many years.  We are noticing more in our data for new/incoming students that we are missing a parent (usually a split household) or have a step parent being listed as the other parent.  Has anyone else experienced this and is there any concern raised that the other legal parent is being excluded from contracts and communication?  Trying to find out what the "Best Practice" is in these situations so we can help clean up and address process for future.  Thank you for any feedback anyone can give from their processes.

  • Yes! We are quite concerned about getting complete family information. We have chosen not to "require" info about Parent/Guardian 2 (not wanting to presume that there is a second person), which often means we get nothing.

I would like to see skip-logic/ responsiveness built-in in this regard: in applications and (Student) Profile Update forms, if Parent 1 is anything but "Single" (i.e., not Married, Partnered, Separated, etc.), require info about Parent 2.
