Changing a Gift to a different Fund in RE

We received a gift of $30,000 in 2019 from a donor who has asked us to change that donation in 2020 to a Covid-19 Fund that was started in March. However, some of the fund was spent leaving a balance of $27,800. Is there a way in RE to take $27,800 from the original donation and put it in a different fund on the gift record?

    You could make an adjustment on it and split the gift. Splitting the gift is the only way to change the fund anyway, and this way you can allocate the balance to the appropriate fund.

    We do not use split giving so we would do an adjustment to the original gift with the post date of the donors change to the new amount that went to that fund and add an additional gift with the same gift date but use the donors change date as the post date and other information for the balance you are moving.
