Workflow Designer Constituent Criteria

Does anyone have any ideas for creating a workflow that is dependent on a constituent's previous action, not giving?  For those constituents who are not yet donors, but gift officers are cultivating, how do you start the workflow?  My thought is to create a workflow so that once a certain action type is completed a new action would be created.  I feel like I must be missing something, but when I choose to start a list with "select criteria" I only have the option to start a workflow when the condition "a constituent gives a gift" is met (see screenshot). Can we only start dynamic workflows for constituents who have made a gift?

    Hi Robin,

    I think you would have to do this using a list, rather than Critieria. You could create a workflow, and set it to "Select or Assign Constituents" later. Then, build a dynamic list based on what you need. I'm doing this currently for a few prospect actions, and then adding the workflow to that list periodically. In theory, it looks like you can use a dynamic list to set off a workflow using teh "add a list" criteria, but I saw a few posts from folks who had challenges: https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/147/46378?post_id=200361#p200361. (User was told by support that her error was caused by a dynamic list.) This is why I'm weekly adding the workflow to my dynamic list rather than having the workflow auto-add. Not perfect, but works for me. I'd rather use the workflow feature by connecting a dynamic list directly to it, but I'm doing the semi-manual route for now.
