Campaigns in BBCRM

Hey, we're looking into using the "Campaign" field in BBCRM for some large campaigns. Is there anyone out there using this field that can offer up some pro tips and/or pitfalls with using this field please? If you're using it, how much of the functionality are you using related to opportunities, plans, etc.?

  • So we use the campaign field, but not much of the rest of the OOB campaign functionality.  IT just didn't suit our needs.


    For our current comprehensive campaign, we have a couple of revenue attributes to tag gifts as either Grandfathered" or "Excluded" from the campaign


    Then, I have a great big global change that runs every night to add/remove campaign tags according to our counting guidelines. 


    And then, we have a crap-ton of customizations for all manner of campaign reporting purposes, most of which are based on a designation extension table.

    I can echo Ricks response. We use the OOB Campaigns as a container for high-level information(name, goal, date range, hierarchy, etc..). Fundraisers tag opportunities and custom global change tags all the revenue. All reports and dashboards were custom as well.
