Has anyone integrated RE with MobileCause? What are some pros and cons? PLEASE tell me your thoughts!

    Does it "integrate"?  We used MobileCause for a CoVid student assistance appeal earlier this year. 


    As to gift entry, the data can be exported/downloaded from their website. That process was pretty straightforward. Gifts show as pending or completed. Our finance office also wanted me to wait until funds hit our accounts before processing gifts. To enter into RE we manually entered using batch. Most already had RE records, some required creating constituent record. 


    Our number to process was manageable. If # of gifts was huge, I'd consider importing gifts if possible. 


    Staff member who worked with MC, seemed to like. Updating total and donor list was nice.  We had to manually add in names/$ of gifts receive via other means for accurate total to display.

    The term they, meaning MobileCause use is integrate. You guys just downloaded the gifts and manually added them which would be simpler than mapping out an import judging by everything I have read from others who use both MobileCause and RE. I haven't seen a demo yet or had a conversation with a MobileCause rep but will today. Thanks for your insight.

    We have a plug-in called Importacular that we use to import MobileCause gifts. You do have to set it up for funds and appeals and things so when it goes into the batch you have all the information. Recurring gifts do not appear in Importacular, so those have to be found on the MobileCause website. I don't know if this is any easier than downloading from their website, I guess it depends on your quantity of gifts. We've only run one large solicitation this way, so I'm not sure how well I like it. There's a learning curve, as with anything new.

    If you're having difficulty viewing the data for the recurring gifts, please reach out to us at Zeidman Development.  There is functionality with the MobileCause  data source to access that information and those fields are available for import in Importacular.  The ability to apply recurring payments to the recurring gift in Raiser's Edge is also available, but it is not part of the free version.
