Stacking discounts - how do we NOT allow this

We are having a difficulty because even though I had heard that Altru automatically choose the highest discount, in our gift shop, it is stacking discounts. For example, a staff (20% discount) who is a member (10% discount) can purchase a sale item (50% discount) can end up paying pennies for an item. How do we prevent Altru from stacking discounts?

    How are you discounting your sales items?  By changing the retail price or by applying a manual or automatic discount?

    This issue occurs when are applying automatic discounts.

    In my experience, Altru will only select the best available discount, not apply multiple discounts.  But perhaps there is a setting in the way the discount was set up? 


    Can you share screenshots of the settings for the two discounts that are giving you issues?  If you go to the list of all discounts, click on the discounts in question, then take a screenshot of both the Merchandise tab and Eligibility tab - maybe we can figure out what is happening?
