E-Tickets

Currently our default for online sales is an emailed E-Ticket. We are holding a free zoom concert, and the E-Tickets are not needed. Is it possible to remove E-Tickets for that one specific event?

  • No it's not possible to remove e-ticketing for only one event. We've been including the Zoom link in the E-Ticket design! It's been working well for us.
  • Emily Dunkin‍ how do you put the Zoom link in the eTicket design? Isn't the eTicket template universal?
  • We include it the Online Sales Acknowledgement E-mail. All of our events now have customized Ack Letters with all the information the registrant may need, especially the Zoom link, for the specific program event. We also link the e-ticket in this email (since the e-ticket email cannot be customized or blocked).

The only way the e-ticket could reflect the Zoom link that I can imagine would be by entering it as the event name or location. Emily, I am also interested in how you do this. :)
  • I should also add that we held off on enabling e-tickets until just a couple months ago because of the fact that most of our programs do not require any kind of ticket. We enabled it so that we could use them for admission timed ticketing, but put language on the e-ticket page that says if you signed up for a virtual program that you can disregard the e-ticket. We also put a sentence in the event acknowledgement emails that says they will also receive a separate email with e-tickets and they can disregard that email since they are attending a virtual program. So far, I haven't heard of anyone who complained or got confused about it.
  • Yes, unfortunately e-tickets are universal. (There is an Idea that you can vote on to change this.) I've been modifying the e-ticket for each show. Currently we're not selling multiple shows so it's not an issue. We add a note in the event description that they'll be receiving the Zoom link in the e-ticket. We don't modify the Acknowledgement email because that's used for all transactions and were worried it would be confusing. Let me know if you have more questions!
