Add Spouse Recognition for Past Gifts
In Raiser's Edge, there was an option to soft credit a spouse for all of the other spouse's prior gifts (and moving forward). How do we do this in BBCRM? For example, Joe Smith has been giving since 2000, but his spouse, Elizabeth Smith, was recently added as a constituent. We want to give Elizabeth recognition credit for all of Joe Smith's existing revenue. We are looking for a way to do this without going into each gift and updating the recognition.

Good question and unless something has changed, historical donations can't be automatically soft credited
It can be done via the Relationship on the record, so that any future donation as credited to both parties, but I've yet to see a way to bulk soft credit a record from another records' donations.

Hi Liz and Amanda, Blackbaud has developed a custom global change for this purpose. Attached is a brief description of the functionality and a screenshot of the global change UI, but in a nutshell it accomplishes the desired outcome for applying spouse recognition credit for past transactions. This could of course be utilized for other relationships such as donor advised funds, private family foundations, etc.
