Yearly donations for a single donor

Lots of folks email me around this time of year asking how much they gave so far. Is there an easy way to do this? (currently I take out my calculator and start adding up gifts - but with some donors who give frequently this method has a lot of room for (my) error!)

Hi Matthew,

YES! From the constituent record click on the summaries icon, it's next to the tree (lol) and click gift summary. You will get an entire giving summary for that donor.

Like Patti Posey‍ stated, there is a summaries icon on the record in database view that will give you that information. However, you are more comfortable in NXT, and you are starting to get this question more often, I'd suggest that you create a small dashboard in report builder to give you this data. You can add insights for number of gifts given and total amount committed, as well as create a filter for gift date and constituent name. That way, you can just run the dashboard with a new constituent name every time you are asked this question, as well as push it to other people on your team in case they get this inquiry as well.

I use the canned report in RE database view, Financial Reports/Annual Statement Report. It will list each gift amount and date with a total.
