Reverse a journal entry in a posted batch

I need to reverse a journal entry that is apart of a larger batch because the money was put in the wrong account for just the one entry (out of 7 other entries making the whole batch). Does anyone know how to do this?

    Hi Cathy,

    If you open the posted batch, you'll see a button for create reversing batch, and it will create the mirror image of the entire original batch as an open batch you can edit. You can then delete the 5 lines that don't belong and you don't want to reverse, then post the batch (approving first, if that's your practice).


    You can, of course, just create a new batch and enter those two reversing entries, and that's usually better in, say, a 400-line batch, but for a 7-line batch, it's even money either way. They both accomplish the same thing.
