Hi! Our organization is switching from using Excel tracking grants to RENXT. Any best practices would be appreciated. I'm currently putting in an opportunity and then an action for the specific proposal. And where do you usually store the login information to the online application systems?

    We use RE NXT to keep track of our grants as well and we do it just as you mentioned. The actual grant is added as an opportunity with actions for due dates and report dates after receiving the grant. We do not store the login information in the record, although I don't know why you couldn't add it as a note.

    Thanks Belinda! I can add the login in information in the note for sure, but then I'll need to add it to every action/proposal. I was thinking about adding it to the constituent notes but it won't show up in the work center. We have a couple of senior grant writers who are not familiar with RE on the team so I'm trying to make things easy on them.


    How do you usually track the login information?

    I was thinking actual constituent notes. I actually keep a spreadsheet of all grant sites and log in information. But unless you have a shared drive, that wouldn't work either.

    We do have a shared drive. I think that's the best way! Thank you for your suggestion:)

    I would add it as a constituent notepad.  I recommend that for matching gift portals too.  Where is your source for all of your development data?  Raiser's Edge.


    That way, no one has to find the the file on the shared network, or look it up in the binder and hope that it is still up to date.  And if you need to, you can set security by notepad type so that only specific security groups can see it.
