In System Submissions on iPads

Are any other schools running into this issue? We have our middle school students using Chrome on iPads. When they try to attach a file that is in their Google Drive to an "in-system submission" a tab opens as if that Google Drive file picker is opening but then it spins for a second and shuts. This only happens when they use Chrome. We've done the usual clearing of cache and making sure everything (iOS and Chrome app) is updated. If they use Safari, it works fine. We've reached out to support but they haven't been able to recreate the issue. This isn't a handful of kids though, we are getting support tickets everyday even though we've instructed all students to use Safari for now.
