Email workflow and hard bounce

Hello,

I just had the case of a constituent in an email workflow whose email address is hard bounce. There was a typo in his email, I corrected it. Does anyone knows whether the email will be automatically sent to his corrected email address? Or should I do something else?

Thanks!

Hi Perrine Punelle‍ - I am still learning about workflows and in the ins/outs. If the email is marked as primary and does not have inactive/dnc associated with it, NXT should utilize it in the future. If your email workflow is more than one email, I am not sure what will happen, it may depend on any conditionals you have added between emails. I do know that it is difficult to remove constituents once in a workflow, which may be an advantage for you in this situation. If they miss out on the next step in the workflow, then you'll know for sure.

    Hi Perrine Punelle‍ ,

To answer your question, if the workflow you created has 2 emails in it, the constituent whose email address you updated should get Email 2, as long as the email address was updated before that email was set to send. Constituents can't go through the same workflow more than once right now, so there wouldn't be a way to get Email 1 to that constituent, since they already "passed" that step, so to speak. When we get to Email 2, however, we will check the list for the workflow again and if that constituent has a valid email address then they will get Email 2. Does that make sense?

    Hope that helps!
  • Hi Kylee,

    thanks for the answer.

So if I understand correctly, there is no way for the constituent to get the first email.Unless I copy the email and send it just to him, I guess.?
