Use Cases for how our A/R users use query in the database view

Hi Financial Hive,

As we move forward in building Accounts Receivable for the webview, one area I would like to understand better is how you utilize query today and why?

For example, I spoke to a client that shared with me that the ask function allows them to easily do research and that they drill in makes them more efficient.

Do you query clients most often or is it an other area of A/R such as charges, what do you filter by and what output do you expect to see.

It will be super helpful in our discovery efforts if you all can share similiar use cases with the team and I.

Thanks in Advance

  • Hi Thomas,

I switch to database view to do my queries. The reason is because I'm more comfortable doing it there because that's where I first learned to do queries. If you learned in webview, you can do your queries there. Now regarding accounts receivables; queries are excellent for calculation total amount of receivables due. You can sort by year, fund, campaign, ect.

Why you ask...well you want your money! On a serious note, it just makes it easier to track who owes you money and from where. Also, you can import it into excel where you can organize it before you mail out your statement/bill/invoice.
