Event Registrant Attended Field Update using Batch

A decision has been made at our institution to not populate the attended field through the LO-REG batch process for registrations. A batch process is needed to add either attended or no-show based on attendance at the event to update the attended field.


The idea is to use a flat file to import the required fields as well the attended field attended populated with either attended or no-show. Required fields included Registrant, Registration option, Quantity with a default value of 1, Registration type with a default value of Preregistration, Status with a default value of Registered and Attended. One of I'm sure many challenges will be how to handle the attended flag for "Guests of". This process is my initial thoughts and based on information gathering from others may change.


I'd be very interested in knowing how other institutions are using the attended field functionality to manage the participants attendance at events for which they are registered.

  • We just use the built in capabilities of the event registration tab to mark as attended. To make it easier for staff, I created a custom tab with a multi-select option to mark no shows. I put this in a custom functional area so they can on one tab mark the no shows and, on another, mark attended. This was less clicks than marking the no shows and then going to the event to use the mass update attendance task. Staff enter registrations through batch but do not import. Only admins perform batch event imports here.
