New Log in Procedure

Has anyone recently gone through the update of log in procedures of accessing Classic Database from NXT? I am interested to hear how it went and if you are using Google to sign in to NXT? If yes, Are you using 2 step validation in google. We already have 2 step validation for signing into our computers I really do not want to add another 2 step validation daily to staff.

  • We haven't received anything yet explaining the new process or announcing when/if our login will change. The only thing I see is the red message banner displayed on the Citrix login screen. What am I missing and when will we get any more information?
  • Hi Debbie,

We are supposed to get 2 weeks notice before they change database "entry" over to new way. The only thing I have done is make sure all staff has active NXT log in.

    Thanks

  • Thanks, yes, all our users have created their initial Blackbaud profile and Blackbaud login for NXT. As Admin, I've always set up their CITRIX credentials and their database view credentials. We only transitioned to NXT in the last year or so. Prior to that we were solely database view. So, I guess there is nothing else to do until we are notified. Thanks again.
  • Hi Debbie, In the last RE Roadmap update, they mentioned that site admins would get an email 2 weeks before the transition. Also that they anticipated that most orgs would transition by the end of the summer and probably all by the end of the year.
  • Hi Debbie,

Thanks for your post. I am confused though. Isn't the RE NXT account sufficient? Do we need to setup up another Blackbaud profile as well? You mentioned "initial Blackbaud profile?"

    Thank you!
  • We have already gotten the problem resolved. Not sure how all the other Blackbaud users handle there access, but for our employees, they have their Blackbaud profile ID (usually email and a password). Then there is the CITRIX/HOSTING credentials, then for FE database view there is yet another set of login credentials. For our RE users, there is the initial Blackbaud profile ID, then the CITRIX / HOSTING login screen and the RE database view typically pops up without any further login. Don't know why it works this way, but it does.
