Things to check in FE before migrating live to FE NXT

Hello.


I am a database manager at a vision research foundation, and we are going live with RE and FE NXT after July 4th. We're currently using RE and FE 7. We currently have a test version of NXT and I'm wondering what things we should check before we go live in July. I already know what things to check for in RE NXT, which is the software I use most often (in addition to BBGM)..

    Not sure which modules you are using in FE NXT. Check the connections with your bank accounts and credit cards and that they will feed in in Yodlee. These features are very nice to have and if they do not connect/link, it can be very disappointing.

    We converted from a different system to FE NXT, so there was a lot of checking on conversion data. I would think that since you are coming from FE7 that those balances should be fairly automatic. I would recommend running reports in NXT and FE7 and checking that they are the same (formatting may be different)

    Review the EFT process and remittances as well.

    Bank reconciliation looks very different, but in the end does the same thing.

    As far as I know, AR module is still not in FE NXT.

    These are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head. I would hope that going to NXT would be easy and the lucky thing is you can still always go back in FE7.

    I agree with Sylvia Cook‍!


    If you have Expense Manager make sure your credit card/bank are compatible. Our credit cards are not but I think there are work arounds. We have decided to look into other banks/products, but Blackbaud is still working on the connection as well.


    There will still be things that will have to be completed in the database view like running queries. I bounce back between the two views in both RE and FE everyday. I spend most of my time in the data base view but I am trying to get in the web view more. Reports do look a little different and more aesthetically pleasing in web view.


    Most of it should be seamless. Depending on what details you use in gift entry you may still need to use the RE database view. We use RE NXT for JustGiving but for day to day we use the database. Some attachments that are added in RE NXT will not be visible in RE, this however has not been the case for FE NXT and FE.
