RE / Wordpress Integration

We are currently building a Wordpress site and would like be able to integrate RE so that, for example, we would set up an event in RE, people would register through a page on our Wordpress site and the info would go directly into RE. Is that possible and is so, what are the options? Is anyone doing that right now? I did search but wasn't able to find a clear answer. If not possible (or will cost tens of thousands through API programming, etc.), is anyone simply collecting info through a simple Wordpress form and then importing it into RE? Thanks.

  • You can definitely do this if you have Online Express. You could use the webview event registration forms as well - there are pluses and minuses to each. When the form is created, a snippet of code is created in RE and then that code is placed on the website.

I know that this organization is using Wordpress and has their donation and event registration forms in OLX.

  • Thanks Karen. Just so I'm understanding, the event would be set up in RE (as we do now), then a form would be set up in Online Express (rather than NetCommunity as we do now), then a code snippet created in RE would be placed on the website. Is that right? Is that code snippet perhaps available in NetCommunity as well as Online Express?

  • Hi,

It's been a long time since I've used NetCommunity, and am also not fully aware of the upgrades that have been made, if any.

But yes, you do start by setting up an Event record in RE. This knowledgebase and video instructs you on the process for OLX. This link has information on using NXT / Webview to do event registration.

There are pros and cons to each of them, so I would try testing both. In particular, pay attention to how the event registrants from webview are added to the database. I have not used a webview reg form myself, but it seems that there is a lot of frustration about how duplicates are created.

  • Great. Thank you Karen!

If anyone else has any additional info or is currently doing something like this I'd appreciate your comments.

  • Wouldn't normally comment here as it seems like pushing a product but it fits with the use case so here goes: We have just launched a plug and play (any CMS incl. WordPress) login, profile update, form autofill etc. system for just this sort of situation. It auto-fills OLX forms with the users details so fully compatible on that front too. Supports SSO, OAUTH2, etc. .etc.

Anyway, anyone interested let me know by PM - takes the headache out of providing RE integration for your website…

You can also do this in NetCommunity; are you on NXT? If so, then the event “coding” can be put into an unformatted text part; here is what it looks like on our netcommunity page (The left side is the event coding, the right side is a different part:
