Silly question, when importing, do I create the import ID myself - whatever I want?

    Yes and no. You can create but there is a character limit. You may want to check knowledgebase/user guide for more info.

    I use format something like “date-code of type of import-user initials”

    I do the same as JoAnn. [Type]-[Date]-[Initials][Number], example: IR-062321-AB01

    Interesting. I just leave the import ID blank and let the database auto-generate it.

    Sarah, unless you have a very specific need I would suggest you allow RE to automatically generate the import id. Thanks, Dennis

    I agree with dennis ladnier‍ about letting RE generate the import id's for you.
