Time in Prospect Status - Best Practices for tracking?
Hi all - as we all know (and with many suggestions in the Idea bank), the “time-in-status” is recorded in Raiser's Edge and can be seen in the Prospect tile. However, this field is only seen on singular records when the user looks at the tile, and is not able to be pulled into a list.
Our organization used a free trial of Insight Designer to see if this 100% remedied the problem and allowed the field to be reported on, but it was still messy and not perfect. My question is: has anyone found any groundbreaking solution on pulling these days in statuses without adding different action types and recorded time in between those actions (for example).

? And I am happy to share my Excel tracking sheet and SOP, though it is terribly inefficient.

I worked for an organization at least 10 years ago that used Constituent Actions.
The category was “Task/Other”, the Action Type was “Prospect Stage”, and the “Action Status” contained the prospect stage values. The action for the current stage was never marked “Complete”. We used the “completed?” checkbox for all actions.
When a constituent was moved to a new stage, the old action was marked complete. A new, incomplete action was then entered with the new prospect stage. You could see how long someone was in a stage and it was easy to query and export.
It is disappointing that Blackbaud has not yet come up with a better way to track this!

Well said. At this point, solutions like yours are kind of the best bet. It's just odd to me that this data does in fact exist but it is not able to be managed in any useful way.

@Daniel MoodyI have found a very good workaround that does not include Power Automate, Power Bi or any other third party app. Just plain old RE NXT. Go to Analysis/Dashboard Builder. Create a new Dashboard the Insight called Prospect Status Analysis and drag over (You can use the free Insight, do not need the pay). You will need to tinker with this (Insight is somewhat convoluted). Click on EDIT PROPERTIES when you put your cursor in the report. Click on Set it up like the following:


I also use the following filters: Date Range (and I pick all times), Fundraiser Type (the one you want to use, I use the one I created Primary Prospect Manager), Prospect status is overdue, Fundraiser Name (and I pick the fundraisers that are needed for our report and the Prospect Status (if you have this set up correctly in RE )

We also use the following Prospect Status Steps along with the Days Until Warning:

Once done and save and close. When you want the report, all you do is click on View, click the small download symbol (I use CVS) and the file opens. This is what I get and it works great for us:
