Getting Ready for the Raiser's Edge Fundamentals Exam

Make sure you are very fluent knowing where things are located in your database. Just as in the real work world, you don't have to memorize all the answers, you just have to know how to quickly and professionally find solutions when they are needed. There will be a random question or two that you don't know off the top. But knowing the likely places to quickly find that information will help you, as the test is timed.

Keep your database open in a separate window while taking the test, so you can double-check yourself.

Skip hard questions and come back to them later. Again, timed test.

You don't really have to take classes to pass the test, although that is the faster, easier way. If you have already spent years in the database, and have explored your way around the Knowledgebase, you may be able to just jump in and take the test, as I did.

After taking the Fundamentals, don't stop there. Go for the next one, too!

Make sure your boss knows you passed, and update your Community profile and your resume. ?
