Hi all! Trying to onboard teachers away from Google Classroom to Blackbaud. Is there Google Integration where the teachers can create assignments using Google similar to classroom? Thank you!

    The answer is yes - sorta kinda but you're probably not going to like it…

    It does work, but right now it lacks the key feature of Google Assignments that my teachers want. It's not possible to create a GA assignment and add a file template that is automatically copied and renamed for each student. (In Google Classroom, that was “Make a copy for each student”)

    The student can launch the Google Assignments page, but must manually attach files to the assignment. The teacher can view the submissions and grade them in GA, and the grade will be passed back to Blackbaud's gradebook.

    The reason is that Blackbaud is using an older version of the LTI standard that Google requires for GA. Ben Leddy said in a conference session this summer that they are working on updating the LTI, at which point GA should be able to replicate Classroom feature.

    Can anyone tell me what pieces I need to integrate to sync grades and assignments between Blackbaud and Google Classroom? Google Assignments, Google Drive, do I need OneRoster?
