    Love the comments - and agree: achieving professional certification will be empowering and will help me to better support my colleagues.

    (Hopefully earning more Queen of the World days - a temporary, lighthearted designation we give to members of our team who solve sticky Blackbaud challenges.)

    Earning Professional certification would mean to me, that my skills in Raiser's Edge NXT are qualified, proficient and specialized at an expert level to receive the corresponding accreditation.

    I don't know everything about all aspects of RE / RE NXT but professional certification indicates that I have a solid grasp of the software. If I need some credibility, it's there to back me up.

    JoAnn Strommen‍ Very accurate! But the great thing is know that you have a vast knowledge that is backed by that certification! :-) The reassurance of that credibility would be everything.

    I've been managing RE databases for about 17 years and I take the Professional certification test every year. It doesn't take me long to do and I maybe get one wrong and it really bothers me that I get one wrong. That could lead me to dismiss the test, but our finance department recently got FENXT and I decided to take the fundamentals classes and test. I took the classes and took the test and passed - but not being familiar with accounting work it wasn't that easy. I think that we sometimes have worked in RE for so long that while it seems easy to us - it's not that easy to others just starting out. Having Professional certification in RE is a really good thing and be proud of it!

    Having the appropriate certifications for my job is a boost for my portfolio/resume. I am considered the super-user for our team and have the credentials to boot.
