Combining Budgets to Create an Agency Wide Combined Budget

Has anyone found a good way to get an entire agency combined budget? We have lots of different grant terms so the system only lets us combine budgets that are for the same period. However our CEO wants to be able to pull whole agency reports with a combined budget without having to manually add 73 budget scenarios into the column in a report.

The best solution I have come up with is just combining as many as we can so she only has to add 9 different budget scenarios together instead of each individual but this still isn't ideal.

The only other option I could think of was to pull each individual budget out into excel and manually add them all together but this seems cumbersome. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!!

  • I have a column on my income statement that includes all the budget ID's. However, I only have one budget for each department. The grant budgets are within each department and allocated to the projects and grants. This way I can run an income statement including actuals and budgets on a particular grant or project.

  • We create grant budgets in the budget module based on the grant period. We create budgets for departments that are not grant driven based on our fiscal year. We do them all as period budgets and then combine all of them into an annual budget. This allows us to update contract budgets based on amendments or internal budgets for departments and create quarterly projections by again pulling them all together using the budget tool.

Hey Kelsey! Not sure your still dealing with this issue but merging over 70 budgets to create 1 entity is a must for me every month. Have you tried Grouping like budgets together in parts, then merging those parts into 1 consolidated budget. Each grouping would be a merge that is placed under a different Scenario ID which must be named as a scenario ID for merging purposes. The other option would be to create a consolidated budget Scenario ID then use the excel budget creator to pull the accounts you need into it to create the consolidated budget your looking for.
