Capture a Missed Recurring Gift

A donor who makes a monthly recurring gift through RENXT (BBMS) had an expired credit card, so the October payment didn't go through. I was able to get the new expiration date and updated her recurring gift record, but would like to charge her for the missed October payment (without her having to create a new gift). Is there a way to initiate a gift through BBMS with a card on file?

  • I believe that you can reset the date on the recurring gift and run it again.

Yes, just go to “Transactions” then “Rollback transaction." It will put the next due transaction back a month, and then you can pull it once more in your Auto-generated gift batch.

  • If you are in Canada, and have the auto payment turned on, I don't think there is a way, not one that I can find. Once the auto processing is turned on, you can do anything in the gift in the database view. In NXT, you can only skip the next transaction, and not roll it back.

When I look at BBMS you can initiate a gift but you need to enter the card information. It does not appear to save the info. If you have the card information stored on the constituent record you can process a stand-alone payment in RE.
