Confidentiality Agreement Prior to granting access to Raiser's Edge

Hello,

Does anyone's institution require new users to sign a confidentiality agreement before they are added as users in Raiser's Edge? My previous institution, University of Illinois, required all prospective users to sign one before they were added as users, but we do not have a process in place at my current institution.

If your institution does require this, who's responsibility is it to create that document, and would anyone be willing to share theirs with me so that I can see how the agreement is worded so I can draft one for my institution?

Thank you in advance!

  • All new users must sign a confidentiality agreement including our volunteers. When I first started with the organization I created the document however, this has been recreated over the years.

This is an absolute must! In regards to employees, every organization I've worked for has had a general confidentiality agreement upon hire. In regards to any volunteers, it would probably be something that the department came up with after consultation with legal.

We have two forms depending on the person's position and rights they will have. One is for those who will have access to the db. The other for those who receive information pulled by a staff member.

Actually a third form for vendors.

    UD Policy Exhibit B - FILLABLE FORM.pdf

I attached files - will see if they are accessible. I don't have a good history with attachments. :)

  • @JoAnn Strommen , thank you so much for sharing these documents! This is so important and often overlooked or lost in the shuffle of too-busy workloads.
