Advisory Notes

Hello!

I am working with one of our deans to clean up our process for Academic Advisories. Our students meet once per year with a grade-level advisor where they discuss desired courses for the next year, academic plans, and have a general check-in. Historically, the notes from that meeting have been created and stored in Google Drive. As a school, we are hoping to move away from storing confidential student information in Google and migrating as much as possible directly to the K12 system.

We do not want to use course requests, as these conversations occur much earlier than we actually have courses created for the upcoming year.

Where would be the ideal place to create and store some of these notes for students? It's not quite a Learning Profile but I'm struggling with Official Notes as an option because while the Enrollment Management notes have a template feature, Academic Official Notes do not.

Has anyone found a way to track this kind of information wholly within the K12 system? I'm still considering Official Notes despite the lack of templates for academics, but I'd love to hear if anyone else has something they've tried that works a little more elegantly?
