    • Balancing North Carolina 4% withholding back to the 1099 vendor report.
    • Teaching others what is considered to be a 1099 expense.
    • 1099 names matching w-9, getting legal name
  • Thanks @Angela Tuttle for the feedback! We should be able to cover the last two bullets in today's session. Curious, have you reached out to support on your first bullet? If not, hopefully they can help walk you through it.

  • I have not reached out to support, I know how to do it, but it can be cumbersome in years that there is a lot of activity. I need to create better policy/procedures.

  • Sharing a little feedback, below, from some of the attendees of the 1099 Prep session.

You can still register to view the session that is now on-demand. Use the REGISTER HERE link above to access the 1099 Prep session. We will have a follow-up session in early January for 1099 Processing.

“As an experienced accountant who is new to Blackbaud it is extremely helpful to see how to access info for the end of year coming up. Thanks!”

"I never was really trained on how to do 1099's so I came up with my own process which has progressed over the years. I see that using NXT makes verifying records so much easier then the database view."

“Not only are the presenters showing the steps, they give best practice advice and explain why or why not to check certain boxes.”

"You addressed many of the questions that I had in regard to getting prepared for January. THANK - YOU!!!!!"

  • Along with even bothering to get the W-9, making sure that when you put the number in you use the dashes. The amount of numbers is exactly the same if you have a social or a tax id number, however when you are doing the 1099 it is an important distinction.
