Finding queries

Hi all.
I have managed to curb the proliferation of queries since the implementation of TRE by getting into the habit of organising queries into categories. I do not know whether I am overlooking the functionality, but I do not see anywhere the possibility to globally search for queries in the query overview. Strangely enough, you can search for queries if you create an export, for example, and click the 'Selected Records' option, but it is not possible in the 'normal' database view. "Search", with the button with the binoculars, only searches in the selected category.

Who knows more...?

Ditto @Chelsea Powell's response. Use Quick Find.

LOL the only drawback is that it doesn't show what folder the query is actually in.

With they had a quick find for exports too.

    oops. "Wish"

  • Hi JoAnn,

There is! In Export you have the Quick Find tool in the bottom right. And it searches within the categories..

Tip: to open the search window, just click the quick find without anything in the search box. It will open the window.

Thanks, @Martin Drenth - I'm like “how did I miss that”? Then I remembered until last year when I started here, the folders were all mine and I knew where things were.

Now have 30+ folders created by others and am expected to find their exports. LOL I just tried it with zzz - not super quick as there is so much garbage in all those folders. Working to clean them up. This will even help with that.

Too bad that's not at the top like on other pages. Thank you so much for pointing it out.
