Mail merge in Word - gift amount format is incorrect

I am trying to set up mail merge in word as a replacement for what is disappearing at the end of the month. I seem to have worked out everything but the gift amount format. It is only appearing as text e.g. 25 instead of $25.00. Anyone have a solution?

    You can right click on the mergefield and select toggle field code and then add a space and \\# $,0.00. Then toggle field code back and you should be good to go.

    Thanks Shelly! I found that I made the mistake of saving the data file as .xlsx instead of leaving it as a .csv. When I reexported it all was fine.

    Yep, that throws me too sometimes when generating a mailing list in xls instead of csv, because dollar formatting works differently. Glad you found your solution!
