Another "Household giving" post (Is anything new?)

I've been requested to combine spousal giving instead of having separate rows for each. The information will be used for a Donor Level Display. We all know the issues with trying to pull giving amounts with Soft Credit, when SC was not regulated to only spouses. Is there anything new on this subject? Anyone with a new work around?

I have explained that the best I can do is to export using HoH processing, and include the spouse summary giving total in the HoH's row. Of course, not using SC at all.

Is there anything I might be missing by using my above method?

Are there any out there who have come up with better solutions? (major overhauling something like soft credit is not an option though).

Nothing new. I do similar to you except since we do SC spouse giving, I pull the spouse's giving total for the HOH with SC. I'm then looking to see that the amount for HOH and the spouse match. If not, then I check the record as to why.

I'm not holding my breath that BB will devise a way to differentiate spouse SC from other SC.

Thank you, @JoAnn Strommen . I have offered that method as well, but was told it would still be too messy for them to sort it out. Maybe if I pull HoH giving (no SC), HoH Spouse giving (no SC), and HoH giving (SC included).

Is it impossible to Soft Credit twice? For instance, I thought I have seen MG credit on one constituent and spousal SC on the other.

? I would love to say it's not possible to SC a MG but it is. Per the pop-up the original donor can not be soft-credited for a MG but a user can SC a spouse or someone else.
