"Meeting Date" when considering applications

Can anyone advise what this meeting date field refers to? We retrieve the applications, consider them and assign them to staff, and meeting date is blank unless assigned. Thank you!

  • Hi Veronica,

This field is used by some foundations to conveniently group incoming Applications according to their Grants Committee meeting schedule. For example, if your Grants Committee meets monthly, you may allocate all Applications received up to, say, the end of February, to be considered at the April meeting, Applications received up to the end of March could be allocated to the May meeting and so on. If you know all your meeting dates in advance, you can allocate Applications to these dates as they are retrieved.

You can use searches to create dashboards that will show you all the Applications for the Next Meeting Date, the Previous Meeting Date, the one-after-Next Meeting Date etc.

    Hope that helps.

  • Another good answer.?

  • Our Foundation uses the meeting date to assign applications to specific month's committee meetings where they will be discussed and reviewed. Our meeting dates are scheduled for the next year in early December. As applications are received/considered, any received before Jan 16th are considered for the Feb meeting. If received after 1/16-2/15, those will be reviewed discussed at the March meeting. This gives our staff time to create the write ups, pull appropriate documentation to include along with score cards and send to the appropriate committee so they have time to review and prepare their questions, etc. in time for their meeting. I hope this is helpful.
  • We also use the Meeting Date to track which grants will be considered during specific funding cycles. When used in combination with the request date, you can create queries to show how many grants were considered, approved, declined, withdrawn, etc. during a specific cycle.
