Blackbaud Merchant Services changes to transaction reports
Transaction reports are gone. We were changed over to the next generation Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal with BBID last week, and the reports section now only includes disbursement reports, not transaction reports as well like it did previously. We used that report daily to reconcile our online donation activity. The only option I can find now is to run a transaction export to excel, which of course is not formatted as a report and then the transactions have to be totaled in excel. This was already an established report in BBMS that should not have been taken away with this change. Is anyone else frustrated by this issue? Unless they bring transaction reports back, I'm giving this change a big thumbs down.?

They are still available if you log into the classic view. Your old log-in should still work for the time being. This is a major disappointment that this change was not communicated. I would suggest that you have members of your team to postpone the conversion for as long as possible until a workaround is found.
That export option was what we used as well. This new version is terribly feature-less. None of the tools that we used in BBMS are available. That said, I see that they are working to add functionality that does not currently exist, like the donor covering fees option as well as some other new stuff.
I really wish the option to add more export types was available.

The below is what I found today on the knowledgebase regarding transaction reports, so it looks like they are not planning to bring them back. This was in a highlighted box at the bottom of the article. To everyone that this has impacted, please reach out to Blackbaud and let them know to bring back transaction reports as a report option!
“Note: To create a report with the same content as the Daily Transactions Report in the next generation Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal with BBID, modify the columns and filters in the Transactions section. Transaction results can be viewed or exported from this section.”

Dariel – I wonder why no one else is responding to this issue? Maybe they are using the classic view so they are not impacted yet? According to the FAQs, the classic view will cease to exist on April 10, so everyone will be impacted at that point. I hope enough people respond here to get their attention that these reports need to be brought back!

There's a lot of things to consider with this issue @Donna Criswell. I've been thinking about this all week. This change is pretty much a necessary evil, as this will allow gifts through BBMS to allow for donors to cover fees (this is a new column in the NXT based view). I hope they do add some more views, as the layout is horrible and only having the option to export to a .csv isn't terribly helpful, but it is something I guess ?♂️. It took me 3 times as long to reconcile with the new views. Most of the information I could get, but the lack of any layout or breaks in the page made it difficult to read. The BBMS classic reports worked well because they had a simple yet effective and easy to read layout. These are just data, not a report at all.
The communication about this change hasn't even been bad, it's been pretty non-existent. I had no advance notice of these changes that I was aware of. However, we are here now. They have a lot of work to do in the reports that come out of the new BBMS.

I was chatting with Blackbaud the other day because the new portal also does not allow me to see the individual BBMS accounts. I was told that not all features will be available in the new portal after April 10 but we would still be able to access them.
How we will access the features that were not moved over was never clarified, and I'm still working to figure that part out. My hope is that the April 10 date will change? Maybe we will still be able to log in to the classic view? I did connect my BBID to BBMS, and I'm able to log in both ways. I can go to bbms.blackbaud.com and use my BBMS username and password. I can also be logged in under my Blackbaud ID and navigate to BBMS, but into the new portal.
I'll post again if I learn anything else!

I agree and was disappointed to find this, hoping that maybe that functionality was just not built out yet. If BB does not plan to bring that back, a training would be nice to show you how to build what you want with the export options.

I was told by support to put in an Idea for any of the features we want back. So very frustrated.

It appears to be in the Raiser's Edge idea bank. When you add the idea, you can pick a category and BBMS is one of them.

I have complained before when Blackbaud made changes with little to no notice. We have integrations that depend on these reports. And our finance reconciliation depends on these integrations. If there is a link to the idea bank, please share. Happy to add my vote. I hope Blackbaud is listening. The BBMS portal is essential to our business functions.
