Participant Center Login Issue

Hello Blackbaud Community.


We've recently been seeing an issue where a logged-in user is asked to re-login when they navigate out of their Participant Center and back to it.


We've actually seen some version of the issue in several different Luminate Online instances, and it's been difficult to squash so I thought I'd post about it here.


To replicate:

1. Clear cookies and cache

2. Log in as a TeamRaiser participant and navigate to the PC

3. Navigate away from the PC, like visit your personal, team, or greeting page

4. Navigate back to the PC


In many cases, a small login form pops up within the PC, even though the user is still logged in. Sometimes you can even see the PC behind the login form.


An error related to the LO API often appears within the console and seems to imply that the user isn't logged in even when it's clear they are.


Has anybody seen this recently? Any recommendations for a fix?

  • I've seen it for sure and can reproduce it pretty reliably. Haven't had time to look into it at all, so not sure what fixes are available.
  • Hi there! Did you happen to come up with a fix for this? I'm experiencing a similar issue when embedding PC3 in a page (user gets asked to login - though if the user opens PC3 in a new window, no login, and if they return to the initial embedded page, no login).
