New Search Bar

The new search bar is incredibly incovenient. We search constituents all day and now search isn't prominently displayed and hides itself while you are typing. Can someone who actually uses Altru be in charge of the updates!? I want the old version back.

  • Agreed- and further more, it is not formatting correctly on my computer in Chrome. The magnifying glass doesn't do anything at all, and the new menu hides the top blue menu strip for Altru- so unless I already have a shortcut to something, I cannot even navigate the system. I've switched to Edge, but all my printing is set up through Chrome. The chat support has said they're aware of the bug, and it only affects some Chrome users, and they're “working on it”. This was a couple of weeks ago. Very frustrating.

  • I agree that clicking for the search bar is an extra step that I don't need. Not an upgrade at all. There should be an option to lock it into place or customize it in some other way on your home page.

  • Completely agree! My main job duty includes searching and entering people all day - why would I want the search bar hidden or have to click a shortcut link every time I want to search? The rest of the navigation bar changes are fine/neutral but this one is extremely aggravating. I hope we can at least get a customize option so we can opt back into the old style search bar?

  • It is strange - if it is part of a bigger picture, I wish they would share the why!

  • Yes, it is going to get tedious fast. And in the “+" dropdown, you can go straight to add a payment or a pledge, but we always want to review and update the constituent data before adding a payment.

  • All of our staff also agrees. The inconvenient placement, the hiding while typing… it definitely makes things slower for regular day-to-day tasks.

  • The search bar adds an extra step and is definitely not user friendly

  • The new search bar is incredibly inconvenient. To find any constituent, I have to click on the search bar every time I need to search a constituent and it adds at least a couple seconds, which turns into quite a bit of time when I am going through several member files in a day
