Possibly replacing Luminate Online

We are beginning our new budget season and would like to see what other RE clients are using in place of Luminate Online. Is anyone using Engaging Networks or other CRMs that they like? The CRM must be able to connect to RE. I would love to hear about any great systems out there that are compatible with Blackbaud. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Marnee Beck - In all likelihood you will need to invest in a third-party app to bring data back and forth between your replacement to LO and RE. I recommend you look into those and the cost associated to factor that into your decision process.

At a past org, we used LO specifically for TeamRaiser. The org ended up switching to OneCause's Peer-to-Peer platform.

  • One of the things that I've noticed is that this really depends upon what the organization is using LO for. If it's primarily giving pages and email, some use Online Express or the functionality in RE NXT. If there are more Peer to Peer needs, I've see orgs go to Classy or maybe Qgiv. I've seen others work with SalsaEngage as well.

  • We use to be on LO and changed to Engaging Networks about 3 years ago. If I had to do it again I wouldn't. I would still leave Luminate but probably use Classy. We didn't go with Classy because at the time we had recurring gifts with end dates (or thought we needed that functionality) and Classy did not offer that. Whatever system you go with the payment processor/merchant account functionality is something you should explore as much as you can. Get sample monthly reports from them and run them by finance for reconciliation if that is something you typically do. I wish I could have stayed with BBMS as it was so easy to work with them. Good luck!

Hi! We are switching our online CRM (only) to engaging networks in 2024, do you have any documentation or notes you would be willing to share on the process/steps you all used to move your data from LO to engaging networks? My team will be doing the heaving lifting on all of this and I am trying to get a plan in place so when the time comes we are overly prepared :). Also any tips or things you learned along the way would be great!!
