Assign security group to new employee

Our new employee has accepted the invitation a day and a half ago. She has been active since then but I am unable to assign her roles and security group. Does it take longer than a day for people to show up or is something else going on? TY in advance!

    Hi @Dana Burton - Can you elaborate on from where you invited the user? And, what area of RE NXT you do not see them showing up?

  • Hi @Dana Burton, I set up new employees in RE NXT with security rights even before the employee has accepted the invitation. I am also wondering what area you are not seeing the employee.

  • @Austen Brown and @ Barbara Kunkel, the admin that originally set up all of our users had me (all in NXT) go to Admin-Users and Admin then add the new employee. Next he had me go back into NXT, then to Control Panel, then Security where he had me click the three dots beside her name to Manage Roles. Whether I assign roles or not, when I type part or all of her name in Security Groups-it always says no results found.

    A couple ideas to tackle:

    • Have you created the user's account in database view as well, and assigned a security group there?
    • Have you marked her record as a Solicitor in database view so she can access her full NXT settings?
    • Have you connected her database view record to her NXT record?
    • Have you checked that whether her record shows as active in your Blackbaud Admin - Users and Admins section?

    Just from your descrip, it sounds like you are missing the half of her setup that occurs in database view. Without security rights in database view, she cannot access any of the donor information in webview either.

    Another thought - how did you name her in db set up? We use first initial last name no spaces. I found I have to enter it just as I set up ID in db side.

    Try typing in the user's username for the user account DBV.

  • @Faith Murray, I was told by the other Admin to use NXT, not Database. (I did look in database and she does not show up there (as things normally do when done in NXT.)

    She does show up as active in NXT users. Also, we use first and last names - even typing a few letter, nothing has shown up.

    I was told not to do anything in DB side…after this info, I went into DB, added her and was able to assign her roles, security group and had her test it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Do you or anyone else know how to change the settings so that I can receive emails notifications that someone has “made a transaction through Website Donation Form?" [Note: I am new to the DA position and previously only assisted w/basic gift entry when DA was on PTO for week or more. Email notifications are still going to her email address & I'd like to change them to go to mine.]

    @Tracy McLuskie, do you use Online Express or NXT webview for your donation forms?
