Consent Options - Online Donation Form

We created our first online donation form through RE NXT and added email and mail consent options, but the selections are not coming through to the constituent's record. Are we missing something?

Hi @Rebecca McKay - Welcome to BB Community. The changes should be coming through as “Consent Records” in order to have those translate into solicit codes, you will need to set up the consent business rule in DBV > Configuration. Check out this KB Article for more information on how to do this:

  • After the Mapping here is done in Config, can you also explain how these integrate when using BB Net Community? What will cause the consent codes not to come over to RE, what are the rules for setting up the communication so that the opt outs/Ins will come over to RE?

  • Thank you so much for sending this over! I did review the article and had already completed the steps. However, I just tested the form again, and this time it worked! I noticed the first time I tested the form, I entered a donation on behalf of an organization, and the consent codes did not come through. This time, I just made a personal donation, and the consent forms did come through. Do you know if the consent codes only apply to individuals and not organizations?

Hi @Darlene LeVielle - Here is a KB Article that covers the consent feature when used with NetCommunity:

@Rebecca McKay - Consent should be working for both types of records. If you continue to notice Org consent not being recorded in the system, reach out to support.

  • Thank you @Austen Brown , I can't seem to find where it is documented in KB that if you use an imported list of ID #'s for your communication/form instead of an RE database view query list of ID#'s, any consent code opt outs/opt ins will not pull back/synch into Raisers Edge even though all the mapping has been configured.

  • Darlene - I believe the KB Article contains the answer you are looking for. I've taken a screenshot and highlighted the section that applies to this question:

  • @Prenger Solutions Thanks! Yes there it is. You can not use an imported list of IDs and expect to get the corresponding new/updated consent codes synched back to RE for for constituents.
