Workflow Designer- linking actions to proposals

I don't see a way to link the actions in a workflow to specific proposals. Is that possible? We use proposals more than funds and campaigns though I would assume for others linking the actions to proposals, funds, or campaigns (or all three!) would be helpful. We can do this with a regular action, just not a workflow action.
